Waspmote is an open source wireless sensor platform specially focused on the implementation of low consumption modes which allows the sensor nodes ("motes") to be completely autonomous, that is battery powered. Lifetime of Waspmote sensor nodes may go from 1 to 5 years depending on the duty cycle and the radio used.
Waspmote 802.15.4 PRO SMA modules are embedded solutions providing wireless end-point connectivity to devices. These modules use the IEEE 802.15.4 networking protocol for fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer networking. They are designed for high-throughput applications requiring low latency and predictable communication timing. SMA-RP version.
Note: You must choose between EU Version (TX Power: 10mW. Only for use in Europe) and International Version (TX Power: 63mW). You can also choose between 2dBi and 5dBi antenna.
You will need batteries to use Waspmote as an autonomous device.
